Turkey is a country that takes you on a time-traveling adventure, with its rich history and breathtaking natural wonders. Last summer, I set off to explore every corner of the country, and this journey not only brought me inner peace but also left me with stunning memories. From Istanbul’s historical heritage to the fairy-tale-like fairy chimneys of Cappadocia, from the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean to the unique culture of Eastern Anatolia, Turkey is truly a paradise where everyone can find something to enjoy. My first stop was Istanbul. On one side, the cool waters of the Bosphorus, and on the other, the captivating atmosphere of the historic Old City, with Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and the Sultanahmet Mosque. Getting lost in the streets of Istanbul and feeling the traces of the past with every step took me on a journey through time. No matter which way you turn, every corner tells a different story. Can you truly say you’ve visited Turkey without seeing Istanbul? Definitely not. After Istanbul, my journey took me to Cappadocia. With its fairy chimneys, hot air balloons, and underground cities, Cappadocia is not just a natural wonder but also a unique opportunity to dive into history. When I entered the Kaymakli Underground City, exploring the living spaces from thousands of years ago made me feel like I was a part of history.

One morning, as I took off in a hot air balloon and ascended into the sky, the mystical view of the fairy chimneys beneath me mesmerized me. My time in Cappadocia became an experience where nature and history intertwined. Next, I headed to the southeast. Discovering the cuisine of Gaziantep was like a culinary journey. The city’s kebabs and baklava reflected the centuries-old gastronomic heritage of Anatolia. When I tasted the famous baklava in Antep, it left an unforgettable impression on my taste buds; truly, this sweet was like no other. The Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep also moved and made me reflect; getting lost in a visual feast from the depths of the past made me feel the traces of ancient civilizations even more deeply.

My next stop was the Aegean region. The warm atmosphere of Izmir, the soothing blue of the sea, and its unique charm immediately drew me in. As I headed towards Çeşme, the salty scent of the sea refreshed my spirit. The beauties of the Aegean seem like they’ve come from another world. Bodrum, with both its historical and modern structures, offered me a true holiday paradise.

Istanbul is like a place unlike any other city, where time stands still. The city is heading towards a future fascinated by the traces of the past.

The Bodrum Castle, the coves of the Blue Voyage, lush olive groves, and charming seaside villages… Bodrum promises more than just a vacation; it’s an escape spot for relaxation. When I reached Antalya, I was in awe of the Mediterranean’s grandeur. The Konyaaltı and Lara beaches, warm sands, and crystal-clear waters offered peace beyond measure. While walking through the narrow streets of Antalya’s Old Town (Kaleiçi), I got a closer look at the city’s fascinating history. With a touch unique to Cyprus, Antalya stands out with both its historical and natural beauties. When my journey began, I didn’t forget to visit the plains of Central Anatolia. In the heart of Ankara, paying my respects at Atatürk’s mausoleum reinforced my gratitude towards the founder of the Turkish Republic. Additionally, witnessing the thousands of years of history at the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations further deepened my interest in history. Each region of Turkey has its own unique atmosphere and spirit.

The green paradise of Rize’s highlands, the tranquility of Trabzon, the ancient walls of Diyarbakır, and the calmness of Lake Van all showed me the vastness, diversity, and depth of Turkey. No matter which city you visit, each one pulls you in and leaves you with an unforgettable experience. Turkey is not just a country; it’s a mosaic where cultures and civilizations merge. On this trip, I carry every moment, every detail, and every feeling within me. Traveling through Turkey is an experience so rich and deep, it can’t be fully contained in a single lifetime. If you decide to embark on a journey through these lands, you’ll discover the unique balance of history, culture, nature, and flavors with every step. Seeing Turkey is not just a trip, but a spiritual exploration. Without a doubt, traveling through Turkey may be the most valuable decision you make in your life.
